Justice Jennifer Brunner

Ohio

Running for: Ohio State Supreme Court

If there’s one thing about Justice Jennifer Bruner, it’s that she does not suffer from a lack of experience. Justice Brunner worked for 17 years in private law practice, followed by six years as a state appeals court judge on the Tenth District Court of Appeals, and five on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. In 2006, she was elected Ohio’s first Secretary of State which she held for four years, and currently serves as Ohio Supreme Court Justice.

As a Springfield, Ohio native, Justice Brunner has witnessed firsthand the beauty of Ohio’s rich history and diverse population. For eight years, Justice Brunner served as a member on the board of advisors for an endowment fund created for Ohio’s LGBTQIA+ community, and six years on the board of the Mental Health America of Franklin County, an organization dedicated to mental health advocacy and social issues. Justice Brunner is running to become Ohio's 11th Chief Justice, and vows to protect the well-being of Ohio’s citizens because, in all her years of public service, she has learned the power that the courts hold and just how much good they can do.
