Tavia received her Bachelor's degree from Emory University then a law degree from the University of Akron. She worked her way through law school as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. An attorney by trade, Tavia previously served as a magistrate in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, including in the county’s juvenile court. Prior to her judicial service, she was a community aid attorney for victims of domestic abuse. Tavia is married to Summit County Chief Assistant Prosecutor John Galonski, and together they have two adult children.
Priorities:
Attract new, high-paying employers; fully fund public schools and make college more affordable; protect access to quality, affordable health care; end harassment; fight for equal pay and paid family leave; protect benefits for seniors and veterans.
