2019 GOTV and Electoral Work

Since 2017, The Hometown Project has supported 75 local candidates and GOTV campaigns in 18 states. Over 40 influential Hometown Energizers, including Mark Ruffalo in Wisconsin, Connie Britton in Texas, Billy Crudup in Florida, and Wanda Sykes and Jason Mraz in Virginia used their social media platforms and appeared in geo-targeted video messages to help elect progressive candidates in their hometowns.

The Hometown Project 2019 Virginia operation connected over 10 Hometown Energizers to 27 local candidates in crucial state legislative races. The contributions of Hometown Energizers resulted in increased name recognition and motivated over 275,000 voters in key districts across Virginia.

By developing, producing, and fielding statewide geo-targeted videos from our hometown artists and influencers, we brought progressive candidates valuable name recognition and support.
